Prudhoe Youth Club Ladies have secured two guest coaches for their training sessions.
The first will be Barney Jones, an established and well respected coach throughout the North East.
He has provisionally booked to coach on Wednesday November 5.
Landmark locations will be seen in a new light this winter with the return of a hugely popular winter festival. Northumberland Lights - and the award-winning team behind it - are back with more bright ideas for outdoor illuminations.
From November 2 to 30, the winter festival will bathe some of the most beautiful and remote spots from Blyth to the Borders in an array of colour, in celebration of the county's contrasting architectural and natural environment.
FREE bus transport for older students is set to leave Northumberland County Council with a £500,000 bill. But councillors last night hailed the scheme to provide passes for A-level and college students as a massive success - and said it was likely to cost much less than feared.
The free pass has seen the number of teenagers using buses more than double, from 800 in July to 1,850 now. The county council took the decision to scrap fares after they rose to £360 a year under the previous Labour administration.
Prudhoe roof-fall schoolgirl Danielle Bell is finally on the mend. Three weeks after fracturing her skull, shoulder and piercing her lung in the plunge, she is back home and recovering.
Ten-year-old Danielle was left fighting for life after she fell around 12ft, at the Prudhoe and Mickley Unionist Club, and landed on the concrete floor.
But after surviving she is recovering at home, in Prudhoe, Northumberland, where mum Angela told of her relief. She said: "She is really lucky to be alive. I don't want to let her out my sight now. She has always been precious to me anyway but she's even more precious now."
Prudhoe lost by the odd goal in the Skilltraining Ltd Northern League's Second Division.
Playing against Jarrow Roofing, the odd goal in five sent Prudhoe crashing to the basement of the league. Craig Tait (2) and Kevin Davison netted for the Roofers with replies coming from David Potts and Mark Waugh.
Elsewhere in the league, Horden's promotion challenge is gathering pace. The Colliers were one of only two sides in the top six to win, claiming a vital 3-1 result at Welfare Park against close rivals Esh Winning.
Half-term boredom will be well and truly banished in Prudhoe next week with a range of activities to get children active.
Prudhoe Sports Camp, which will be held at the Prudhoe Football and Sports Centre at Prudhoe High School, will keep eight to 13-year-olds entertained with a range of sports, including rounders, cricket and football.
The camp runs from 9am to 5pm on Monday October 27 to Friday October 31 and costs £45 per week or £12 per day. A later session starting at 10am costs £40 per week or £10 per day.
A sports organisation is reminding the community that there is still time to nominate people for the region's annual sports awards.
Active Tynedale, a body that aims to promote sport and physical activity at a local level, is urging people in Prudhoe to put forward suggestions for the North East Sports Awards 2008 before the October 31 deadline.
The annual awards recognise contributions across all elements of sport in the North East, from coaches and volunteers, to elite performers and teams.
In the Ernest Armstrong Memorial Cup Sunderland RCA just ousted Prudhoe Town by the odd goal in three after an exciting final quarter hour.
Just before the end with RCA down to nine men through injuries Prudhoe's Ben Haddock scored the goal of the game with a cracking 25-yarder but RCA held on.
Prudhoe Youth Club gained revenge for their league defeat to FC Morpeth Athletic three weeks earlier with a great win in the cup.
Illness enforced several changes on Prudhoe Youth Club Yellows' normal formation as they faced a stiff challenge in the Pinpoint League Cup.
Both teams approached the match with determination and flair and there was little to choose between two skillful sides, with the lead changing hands three times in normal time.
Wylam Rockets Blues put in a good team performance in the under 10s but were overcome by the passing ability of their visitors.
The many spectators and parents who lined the pitch in changeable autumnal weather were treated to a display of skill as Wylam Rockets Blues hosted Haydon Bridge in Division One of the Tyne Valley Insurance Tynedale under 10s Mini-Soccer League.

Wylam, fresh from a strong performance against Hexham the previous week, faced a determined and well organised Haydon Bridge side.
